Subtle Signals LTD ("we," "our," or "us") develops mobile applications designed to help you stay
organized and on top of your daily life. This Privacy Policy applies to all Subtle Signals apps,
including but not limited to Location Alerts and Cue.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it,
and your rights regarding your information.
Our Privacy-First Approach
All Subtle Signals apps are built with a fundamental commitment to individual privacy:
Local-First Storage: Your personal data (reminders, notes, medication schedules,
location alerts, and all other content) is stored exclusively on your device.
No Cloud Database: We do not maintain a central database of user information.
No User Accounts: Our apps do not require you to create an account or provide
personal information to use core features.
You Control Your Data: Deleting the app removes all locally stored information.
Data We Collect and How We Use It
1. Personal Content (Stored Locally Only)
The following data is created by you and stored exclusively on your device. We never collect, transmit,
or have access to this information:
Reminders and Tasks: Reminder titles, descriptions, times, and completion status
Notes and Memories: Note content, titles, categories, and timestamps
Medication Information: Medication names, dosages, schedules, and dose history
Location Alerts: Alert names, descriptions, exact coordinates, and trigger settings
Smart Alert Preferences: Settings for weather alerts (frost, UV, hay fever),
birthday reminders, anniversary reminders, exercise prompts, and contact check-ins
Personal Contacts: Names and relationship information for birthday/anniversary
alerts
2. Location Data
If you use location-based features (available in Location Alerts and Cue):
Purpose: Location services are used solely to trigger alerts when you arrive at or
leave specified geographic areas.
Processing: Your location is processed locally on your device and is never
transmitted to external servers.
No Tracking: We do not track your movements or store a history of your continuous
position.
User Control: You can revoke location permissions at any time through your device
settings.
3. Health and Medication Data
If you use medication reminder features (available in Cue):
All medication information, including names, dosages, schedules, and dose history, is stored
locally on your device.
We do not collect, transmit, or have access to any health-related information.
This data is not shared with any third parties, including health providers or insurance companies.
4. Anonymous Analytics
To help improve app performance and reliability, we collect minimal, anonymous technical data via
Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics:
Feature Usage: Anonymous statistics on which features are used (e.g., when an
alert is created, a reminder is set, or a setting is changed).
Technical Information: Device model, operating system version, app version, and
language settings.
Crash Reports: Technical diagnostics when the app crashes, including stack traces
and device state.
Important: This data is purely technical and cannot be used to identify you personally.
It does not include any of your personal content (reminders, notes, medications, etc.).
5. Weather Data
If you use weather-based smart alerts (frost, UV, hay fever):
The app uses your approximate location (city-level) to fetch weather forecasts from third-party
weather services.
Your exact location is never shared with weather services.
Weather data is cached locally and refreshed periodically.
Optional Third-Party Integrations
Google Tasks Integration
If you choose to sync with Google Tasks (optional feature):
Access Scope: The app requests limited access only to your Google Tasks. We do not
access your emails, contacts, calendar, or any other Google services.
Smart Suggestions: The app analyzes keywords in your tasks locally on your device
to suggest relevant location-based reminders and smart alerts.
Bidirectional Sync: Changes you make in the app are synced to Google Tasks and
vice versa.
Local Storage: All synced task content is stored locally on your device.
Revocation: You can disconnect Google Tasks at any time through the app settings.
Google Drive Backup (Optional)
If you enable Google Drive backup (optional feature):
Access Scope: The app requests access only to its own private folder in your
Google Drive (app data folder). We cannot access any of your other Drive files.
What's Backed Up: Your app settings, reminders, notes, medication schedules, and
location alerts are encrypted and backed up to your private Drive folder.
Encryption: Backup data is encrypted before being uploaded to Google Drive.
Restore: You can restore your data when reinstalling the app or moving to a new
device.
Control: You can disable backup at any time, and you can delete backup files
directly from your Google Drive.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
Local Encryption: Sensitive data (OAuth tokens, backup credentials) is encrypted
using Android's EncryptedSharedPreferences.
Secure Storage: App data is stored using Android's secure storage mechanisms.
HTTPS: All network communications (weather data, Google Tasks sync, Drive backup)
use encrypted HTTPS connections.
No Plaintext Passwords: We never store passwords in plaintext.
Third-Party Services
Our apps utilize the following third-party services:
Weather Services: Third-party weather APIs for forecast data (specific provider
may vary).
These services may collect information as outlined in their respective privacy policies. We have chosen
privacy-focused providers wherever possible.

and stored on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States. These
transfers are governed by Google's privacy policies and comply with applicable data protection laws.
